Columbus Georgia is home to museums that attract visitors from all over to see the National Infantry Museum, the Chattahoochee River and a vibrant culinary scene. Fort Moore(home of the Infantry), and some of the best Southern Charm and hospitality.
When John sent an email asking to photograph his proposal to his girlfriend Emily, he was finishing up Basic Training at Fort Moore. John comes from a long line of military service, and was so excited to graduate and honor his families service, and see Emily after five and a half months of training.
John and Emily are high school sweethearts, and have known each other their entire lives, and they knew they wanted to spend forever together shortly after dating. When John shipped off to basic training, this was the longest they have spent apart in 5 years, and were so excited to see each other after he was done with basic training.
He told me that he wanted this session to be disguised as a couples session to celebrate his basic training graduation, and when he was ready, he would ask Emily to be his wife.
We met at the Riverwalk and walked along the brick path, and had so much fun. They talked about their plans for the future with a twinkle in their eyes, and it was the most precious thing to witness. Despite the rain and gloomy weather, it was a session to remember.
We found this underpass where it was dry, and John was ready to ask Emily to be his forever. When he gave me the sign, he got down on his knee and nervously asking Emily to be his wife, and she said YES with tears in her eyes.
I am so excited for John and Emily and so grateful that John chose me to photograph their proposal in the Fort Moore and Columbus Georgia area.
