Columbus Georgia is one of the most iconic and charming cities in Georgia that is often times overlooked.
There is so much history in this area which creates some of the best scenery for photography sessions. Whether you are a history buff and want to tour museums, want the aesthetic of outdoor white brick buildings, grab a cup of coffee from a local coffee shop, or the charm of alleyways with cobblestone and brick.
Locations in Columbus to consider for your next photography session
- Uptown Columbus. Uptown Columbus is bustling with restaurants, the most adorable shops and has a vibrant life that make it one of my favorite spots in town. From the gazebos, architecture, murals and water fountains, there are many spots that are the perfect backdrop. The city of Columbus has done a wonderful job in bringing this part of town to life and ensuring it is family and pet friendly so everyone can enjoy what Uptown has to offer.
2. Riverwalk along the Chattahoochee River. This is one of the most popular locations in the Columbus and Fort Moore area, and for good reason. The scenery is stunning and makes for an incredible backdrop. The river is an icon for Columbus and the rushing waves along the rocks is so calming, serene and beautiful. If you want an urban setting with some nature, this would be the location for you. In the Summer 2023 the city hired a local Columbus State Students to paint a beautiful mural called “The Spirit of the Chattahoochee” below the Synovus Center which is close to Woodruff Park, and one of my favorite spots along the river.
3. Flat Rock State Park. This park has many different sceneries ranging from old cement stairs and walls, to tree lines, to ponds, and the famous and very popular waterfall along the rocks. No matter if you want to run around with your family, play in water or cuddle up on a blanket at sunset with your loved one, Flat Rock is beautiful at every turn.
