It is no secret that Washington DC is a tourist destination for the abundant history and what the city represents for the United States. The city is icon for the Japanese Cherry Blossoms, and for good reason. Every spring thousands travel to Washington DC to see the beauty of the cherry blossoms and take in the scenery surrounding the trees.
The Tidal Basin, the Jefferson Memorial and Washington Monument are the three most popular locations to see the blossoms within The National Mall, and where most couples want to have their pictures taken at these locations.
Abby and Marcus live in the area and wanted to celebrate their first anniversary during the cherry blossom season. We met up at 6:30am and had the Tidal Basin to ourselves which made for stunning images and a really fun and laid back session. The Tidal Basin and National Mall can be very crowded, but waking up early is always worth it!
Marcus and Abby were married in 2022 in Utah where they are from, and moved to Washington DC for the military. Marcus is in the United States Air Force serving with the honor guard around the DC region. Both of them had a twinkle in their eye and they exuded their love for each other with every hug, kiss and prompt I gave them.
Having lived in the Washington DC and Northern Virginia region for three years, I have a ton of recommendations and suggestions for photography sessions in the area. Whether you are getting married, engaged, eloping, or want a couples session, I would love to work with you to create special memories with your partner in DC.
I have a waitlist for Tidal Basin Cherry Blossom sessions, and once I release sessions I will let everyone on the waitlist have first choice of days and times. If you are interested in being placed on my waitlist, please fill out my contact form and I will send the link to you.
